There was once a time, when it was considered that news was meant only for adults. Then came a time, when several schools, in order to encourage children to learn more about what is happening in the world, started asking children to look at specific news pieces. Today, there are many newspapers that actually have a special section, which has only news for kids.
However, as responsible parents, there is a need that you make sure that you monitor the news that you are allowing your child to read. These days, some of the news articles have too much violence or graphic details about horrible crimes in them. You, as a parent, need to make sure that you keep such news away from your child.
Even entertainment news at times is not all clean, which is why, before you allow your child to read anything, you need to read it first. If you are giving your child the good old fashioned newspaper, you can use a marker pen to demarcate the news that your child can read. Alternatively, if you are using an online newspaper, you can download news articles that would be beneficial for your child and they can read the same at their leisure.
Science and technology is one section that your child should be able to read without any serious interventions. There would be new discoveries being made or existing ones being questioned, and these will certainly add to the intelligence quotient of your child. Allow your child to stay one step ahead of the world, with news for kids.
