Counting of votes has begun in the Delhi state assembly elections, which are seen as a popularity test for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The high profile Delhi Assembly polls, where BJP and AAP locked horns, started a direct fight that began today morning, Tuesday February 10, 2015. The Delhi Election Commission made elaborate arrangements for counting of the ballots that is taking place in 14 Centers across the city under tight security.
Mr Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leader conducted an energetic campaign, which was particularly popular with the working class and the underprivileged population, making up to 60% of the total Delhi’s population. Despite tough competition from BJP, AAP receives clear majority in the Delhi election as expected. Most exit polls predicted that BJP will get around 25-30 seats, Congress as expected is likely to be decimated.

Aam Admi Party surged ahead as the counting of votes picked up in the national capital today. AAP had moved ahead by a whopping 62 seats and counting while BJP only lead by 7 seats, while Congress is ahead in none. While Kiran Bedi, BJP contestant was leading from Krishna Nagar at first, but the current news update from the Election Commission sees Aam Admi Party contestant S K Bagga in the lead by more than one thousand votes.
Bhartiya Janata Party candidate from the New Delhi seat Nupur Sharma is leading with 1489 seats, while Arvind Kejriwal, AAP is leading with a staggering 4982 seats from New Delhi region.
