Devastation Struck Nepal Succumbs to Scarcity of Equipment and Rescue Experts

As Nepal recuperates from the devastating Earthquake, rescuers in Nepal battle to reach the remote areas.
The catastrophic earthquake which has already claimed 4,310 lives is expected to grow multifold as aid workers and army personnel continue to press hard to reach areas surrounding Kathmandu.

While, the UN proclaimed that around eight million people have been affected from this disaster. PM Sushil Koirala highlighted that, “getting help to some of the worst affect areas was a major obstacle”. He added that the need for the hour was to desperately seek for help in supplies such as: tents, water and food to the needy.

In a major despair, the Prime Minister’s office indicated that the “Appeal for rescues were flooding from all over the country. But, due to scarcity of equipment and rescue experts, the team was unable to reach many in dire straits.”

On Tuesday, the Homes Ministry spokesperson, Mr. Laxmi Prasad Dhakal indicated that the official death toll had risen from 4,310, with around 7,900 injured. Amidst fear of food and water shortages, locals in Nepal were found rushing to stores and petrol stations to stock up essential commodities.

This disaster has been already rated as the nations’ deadliest in more than 80 years and there is fear in the valley that the toll could raise further, when rescuers discover the full extent of the damage outside the region of Kathmandu.

Even after three days of the quake, rescue teams have been unable to reach some of the worst affected regions of Lamjung, described as the epicenter to the earthquake.

This earthquake is a serious blow to the economy of one of the world’s poorest country, which is already reeling from a decade-long civil war.

Understanding the Concept of Net Neutrality

Latest News on Mobile
The concept of Net Neutrality revolves around the principle that internet service providers and governments should treat all kinds of data on the World Wide Web equally. This means, there shouldn’t be any discrimination or charging differentially by user, content, site, platform, application, type of attached equipment and even mode of communication.

Being neutral is the only way one can still stay connected with reality. With a neutral attitude, we can remain fair, unbiased and balanced. Thus, with the emergence of the concept of net neutrality, imagining life without it would only lead to chaos. This means the latest news on mobile that we come across is not vetted or influenced based on any discrimination and is information in its purest form. The basic intention with net neutrality is that it will act as a public tool. Thus, nobody except the reader has the right to choose what they want to consume and what they don’t. In simple words, it only means avoiding colonization of the virtual world.

Many frequent bloggers and personalities have commented on this concern. Harsha Bhogle took to the micro-blogging site saying, “The internet is a symbol of an equal opportunity society. It has levelled the world. It has to stay free & open” Gul Panag also recently tweeted, “Our socio economic divide may not be bridged easily. But the digital divide, to a large extent, is being bridged- IFF #NetNeutrality remains”

From famous celebs to a common man, everyone is rising above the chaining of the Internet and bringing the revolution of Net Neutrality.

World Cup Despair Fades as IPL Season 8 Kicks-off

The crackers from the World Cup are still packed and the champagne bottle remains uncorked. But, fret not! They’ll all be used in the next 45 days, as the top teams in India clash in yet another riveting season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) .

All the eight franchises of the biggest cricket league have revamped their squads after conduction brisk business and trading over 67 players at Rs. 87,60,00,000 overall. Last season’s wooden-spooners, Delhi Daredevils captured the headlines when they bagged Yuvraj Singh for a whopping Rs. 16 crore. But the question stays; will they be able to capture their mojo from the first few seasons, with Zaheer and Yuvraj in their squad?

Moving from North to down South, if you thought Banglore fans would be swaying on Kingfisher’s tune with the likes of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. Think again! This season, they’ve dished out Rs. 10.5 crore to bag wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik.

Apart from Delhi and Banglore, Sunrises Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab have also splashed cash to house Trent Boult, Aaron Finch and Murali Vijay. However, saying that, the Sunrisers suffered a major blow in the form of Kevin Pietersen, who pulled out of the tournament in his bid to make a comeback in the England cricket team.

Leaving aside teams that made the most noise before the start of IPL Season 8; all eyes will be set on the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) once again. The Knight Riders kick start their campaign against the formidable Mumbai Indians on Eden Garden tonight.

So while, Shahrukh Khan prepares for his motivational speech, it’s time for you to dust off your lounging chair and bring along your vuvuzelas for a star-studded spectacle that commences from April 8th to May 24th. We declare the games open!

Is it a Plane? Is it a Bird? It’s M-Zero, India's First Supercar

Current News
Do you skip a heartbeat, every time you see a Supercar on road? Have you wondered what goes behind creating a dream machine like that? The business of creating mean machines that rule the road, is more or less a dream job for most of us. Right from penning down the design on the drawing board, to building a concept and finally, creating the finished product – the journey of manufacturing a car is laced with creativity, passion and a zeal for innovation.

On that note, let’s take the pleasure of introducing you to a new automotive start-up, Mean Metal Motors- which is working on India’s first supercar. Yes! You heard us right, our first ever supercar!

Taking a skip from the usual makers of Supercars, all eyes are set on India to deliver this “Mean Machine.” Of course, if the Polish, Germans and British can make it, why not us?

Known as the M-Zero, four teams from four countries are working on turning this design dream to reality. While, the team in Portugal and Italy is taking care of the styling and body, the team in UK is looking after the simulations and analysis. Additionally, the responsibility for breeding life to the car, i.e. engine, transmission, aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and electronics has been taken care by the team in India.

Chassis

The M-Zero has a light-weight carbon-fiber monologue tub chassis, which is intended at providing rigidity to the vehicle. Though, the chassis will be designed by the members at Mean Metal Motors, it will be given to various part manufacturers for production.

Engine

The “M-Zero is a hybrid mid-engined supercar, loaded with a 4.0-litre AMG V8 bi-turbo or the 4.8-litre NA V10 engine. The founder and director of “Mean Metal Motors” emphasized on the fact that they were targeting the 500+ bhp mark for the power output.

Features

With features such as the usage of special alloys for better adaptability of shapes, structure and a turbulizer that will reduce the aerodynamic drag; this “Mean Machine” will be an eye candy for sure.
This grand project is intended at raising $7 million in the first round of funding. However, sadly, the manufacturing facility will not be in India but in a Scandinavian country. And, the market they are targeting, is Europe.
